Plagiarism Policy

Educational Management Studies (EMS)

Educational Management Studies (EMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ensuring that all published articles are original contributions to scholarly knowledge.

Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, or images from other sources without proper citation

  • Submitting work that has been published previously as new research

  • Excessive paraphrasing without acknowledgment

  • Self-plagiarism (reusing substantial parts of one’s own published work without citation)

  • Unauthorized use of unpublished materials, such as theses or conference papers

2. Similarity Screening

All manuscripts submitted to EMS are screened using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or similar tools).

The journal generally applies the following similarity thresholds:

  • 0–15%: Acceptable similarity

  • 15–25%: Requires revision and clarification

  • Above 25%: Manuscript may be rejected due to significant overlap

Similarity reports are carefully reviewed by the editorial team, and decisions are not based solely on percentage but also on the context of overlap.

3. Actions in Cases of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified at any stage:

  • The manuscript will be immediately rejected

  • Authors may be asked for clarification or revision in minor cases

  • Serious misconduct may result in a ban on future submissions

  • Published articles found to contain plagiarism may be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines

4. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Their work is original

  • All sources are properly cited

  • Quotations and reused materials are clearly indicated

  • Manuscripts comply with ethical publishing standards

5. Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Educational Management Studies (EMS) adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and takes all necessary measures to prevent and address plagiarism.
