Author Guidelines

Educational Management Studies (EMS)

Educational Management Studies (EMS) welcomes high-quality research articles, theoretical studies, and empirical investigations in the field of educational management, leadership, policy, and related areas.

Authors are requested to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.


1. Scope of the Journal

EMS publishes scholarly works related to:

  • Educational leadership and management

  • School governance and administration

  • Higher education management

  • Education policy and reform

  • Human resource management in education

  • Strategic planning in educational institutions

  • Quality assurance and institutional development

  • Innovation and digital transformation in education management

Manuscripts must clearly contribute to the advancement of knowledge in educational management studies.


2. Types of Manuscripts

EMS accepts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Conceptual/Theoretical Papers

  • Case Studies


3. Manuscript Preparation

Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.

Length

  • Recommended length: 5,000–8,000 words

  • Including references, tables, and figures

File Format

  • Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margin: 2.5 cm (all sides)


4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

1. Title

  • Clear, concise, and informative

  • Maximum 20 words

2. Author Information

  • Full name (without academic titles)

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Email address

  • ORCID (if available)

3. Abstract

  • 150–250 words

  • Brief background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion

  • Written in a single paragraph

4. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords

  • Separated by commas

5. Introduction

  • Background of the study

  • Problem statement

  • Research objectives

  • Literature context

6. Literature Review

  • Theoretical framework

  • Relevant previous studies

7. Method

  • Research design

  • Participants/sample

  • Instruments

  • Data collection procedures

  • Data analysis techniques

8. Results

  • Clear presentation of findings

  • Tables and figures properly numbered

9. Discussion

  • Interpretation of results

  • Relation to theory and previous research

10. Conclusion

  • Main findings

  • Implications

  • Recommendations for future research

11. References

  • Follow APA Style (7th Edition)

  • Minimum 15 references

  • At least 70% from recent scholarly journals (last 10 years)


5. Citation and Referencing

EMS uses APA 7th Edition citation style.

In-text citation:

(Smith, 2021)

Reference list:

Smith, J. (2021). Educational leadership strategies. Journal of Education Management, 15(2), 123–135.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).


6. Tables and Figures

  • Must be numbered sequentially

  • Include clear titles and sources

  • High resolution

  • Placed within the text near their first citation


7. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants must:

  • Obtain ethical clearance (if applicable)

  • Include informed consent

  • Ensure confidentiality

Authors must disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.


8. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using similarity detection software.

  • Similarity index should generally be below 20%

  • Plagiarism in any form will result in rejection


9. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS).

Steps:

  1. Register/Login

  2. Submit manuscript

  3. Upload supplementary files (if any)

  4. Confirm submission


10. Peer Review Process

EMS applies a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant field.


11. Publication Fees

EMS does not charge any submission or publication fees. All accepted articles are published free of charge.


12. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work. Published articles are distributed under the journal’s licensing policy.
